From renovating church kitchens to expand outreach, fixing sidewalks into church, creating ADA accessible ramps and installing elevators, fixing bathrooms for visitors, adding air conditioning for retreat centers…and more, the Growth Development Fund (GDF) is a lifeline to expanding the footprint of Church.

During the Bishop’s pilgrimage he discovered that a number of churches needed small to medium capital improvements to expand their capacity for ministry, hospitality, and community engagement. The GDF was created in 2017, with the first awards distributed in 2018, to help make such improvements more possible. Each year, the grant disburses up to $300,000 in funds. And, in 2022 the GDF, an initial $1.5M program over five years, was extended for another four years bringing the total of investment in our churches to $2.7M.
