St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Roxborough welcomes applications for the half-time position of Organist & Choir Director to begin in October 2025. St. Timothy’s is a historic parish in the growing Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, and yearns for a musician willing to build upon the rich musical heritage of the parish. Our music program currently includes a choir of 8-10 adults, including 4 paid section leaders, and a few children. The ideal candidate for this position will have a desire to build community through music ministry (both within and beyond the walls of the parish), be well-versed in the Anglican choral tradition and hymnody, enjoy working with diverse volunteer and paid singers of all ages and levels of experience, and be willing to build a choral program for children.

St. Timothy's has a 3 manual, 36-rank Wicks/Buzard pipe organ, a 12 bell tower chime (operable by keyboard and ellacombe), and an extensive music library.

Responsibilities:
● Plan music and liturgy with the rector
● Play the organ, and accompany and/or conduct the choir for one service each Sunday (10:30 a.m.) from September through Pentecost, including a warm-up prior to the service
● Rehearse the adult choir once during the week, including teaching basic techniques for healthy singing, and an emphasis on choral blend and unity
● Recruit for and rehearse a children’s choir
● Recruit volunteers for choir and other music events
● Play the organ for one service each Sunday during the summer months (currently 9:30 a.m.)
● Provide music for additional services, including 4-6 Feast Days (including Christmas Eve and Christmas) and a quarterly Choral Evensong
● Attend staff meetings as necessary
● Maintain instruments, choral library, and music room

All interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume/CV, and link to a recording of your
work as organist and directing a choral ensemble by September 30 to the Rev. Meghan Mazur at
