This 1-day workshop offers an alternative approach to addressing the practical realities associated with conducting a stewardship campaign, creating cultures of giving, and achieving your missional and financial goals. Participating parishes will begin with an examination of their particular approach to stewardship, the missional and financial priorities they hope to achieve, and the current challenges that are inhibiting their efforts. Within that context we will examine the mindset and practices associated with approaches to stewardship that may be perceived as a series of isolated events and transactional requests for money to support the institutional needs of a parish – a process that can seem disconnected from the mission, ministry and formation focus of parish life.

In contrast, participants will be introduced to a transformational approach to stewardship that integrates the practical need for funding with our missional call to nurture deeper, more meaningful relationships with parishioners in ways that inspire an appreciation and enthusiasm for giving that is a direct reflection of the life-changing impact and spiritual nourishment they receive from being members of your parish. In the afternoon participants will receive a framework and resources for implementing a relational stewardship campaign in their parish - one that promotes a year-round strategy for parishioner engagement, discernment, formation and funding that is in harmony with parish life.
Optional:
The workshop is appropriate for parishes seeking an alternative approach for annual giving, capital campaign, planned giving, and other funding needs. Because of its relational focus it offers equal value in the areas of congregational vitality, ministry development, strengthening ministry and community partnerships, and consensus-based strategic planning.
