The College is a comprehensive training program that seeks to nurture and develop congregational development practitioners from within existing parish lay and clergy leadership. It addresses learning deeply who a congregation is, and what gifts and skills are truly present to become compelling creative witnesses to Jesus Christ. Furthermore, it addresses bias and how to manage change with realism and pastorally. Most participants are members of teams from congregations within the Diocese of Olympia, however, the College is open to individual participants. The training utilizes contemporary learning methods and daily religious practice so that the experience is encouraging for all.

I have worked for the Episcopal church in parish ministry for ten years and have attended countless workshops, trainings, and seminars. The College for Congregational Development is different because it both lights a fire in my soul to engage in the important work of Congregational Development AND gives me the tools to do it.
