Our life as Episcopalians begins with Jesus Christ. Everything we do, everything we are and everything we aspire to be. Our love of the Bible, prayer, the Eucharist and our engagement with the world.

This Diocese has an extraordinary history and a dynamic future. 

When people think of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, they think of the birth of the Episcopal Church, the founding of our country, William White, Absalom Jones, the Philadelphia 11, justice and hope. 

There is truly a revolutionary spirit in this diocese. As your bishop, my call is to be a shepherd, a pastor, to cast the vision, to plant the seeds and work in the field with you. To serve and empower you. And, most importantly, to love you.

Our purpose is to know Jesus and change the world. We can do that by proclaiming the Gospel, empowering our churches, and addressing the pain and poverty. We have the gifts, resources, people, and faith. Together we are change agents for Christ.

We are one body in Jesus Christ. Every day we journey together as a community. Let’s be co-creators in Christ, innovative, resourceful and faithful.

Let our work change the church. Let us embrace and welcome people into our communities and churches, support those that are vulnerable and address inequality. What starts here will indeed change the world – in His name — for the better.

Our future shines bright and we will thrive, not simply survive. We have Jesus Christ and we are called to make Him known. 

Everything we do begins continues and ends with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So, let’s make history together.

Nuestra vida como episcopales comienza con Jesucristo. Todo lo que hacemos, todo lo que somos y todo lo que aspiramos ser, es por Él. También lo es nuestra pasión por la Biblia, la oración, la Eucaristía y por nuestro compromiso con el mundo.

Esta Diócesis cuenta una historia extraordinaria y tiene un futuro dinámico.

Cuando las personas piensan lo que es la Diócesis Episcopal de Pennsylvania, tienen en mente el nacimiento de la Iglesia Episcopal, la fundación de nuestra nación, en William White, en Absalón Jones, los Philadelphia 11, en la justicia y la esperanza.

Existe un verdadero espíritu revolucionario en esta diócesis. Como su obispo, mi llamado es ser un pastor que vela por sus ovejas, para llevar y hacer posible la visión de esta diócesis, para plantar las semillas en el campo, segar, recoger y trabajar con ustedes. Mi llamado es para servirles y fortalecerles. Y lo más importante, estoy aquí para amarles.

Nuestro propósito es conocer a Jesús y cambiar al mundo. Podemos hacerlo proclamando el Evangelio, empoderando nuestras iglesias, y dirigiéndonos en atender el dolor y la pobreza. Tenemos los talentos, los recursos, contamos con las personas y tenemos fe para hacerlo. En unión, somos agentes de cambio por Cristo.

Somos un solo cuerpo en Jesucristo. Cada día caminamos juntos como comunidad. Seamos co-creadores en Cristo, siendo innovadores, emprendedores y fieles. 

Permitamos que nuestro trabajo cambie la iglesia. Abracémonos y demos la bienvenida a las personas en nuestras comunidades e iglesias, brindándoles apoyo a los más vulnerables y abordando la desigualdad. Lo que comenzamos aquí, ciertamente cambiará al mundo – en su nombre – para bien.

No simplemente sobreviviremos, nuestro futuro es más que luminoso y prosperaremos. Tenemos a Jesucristo y somos llamados a darlo a conocer a los demás.

Todo lo que comenzamos, lo que continuamos y terminamos es con nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. Así que, juntos, hagamos historia.
