In Memoriam: The Rev. Bernard Maguire III

The Rev. Bernard Leonard Maguire III died on August 9. He was born in 1945 in Wilmington, DE, the son of Bernard and Elizabeth Maguire. 

The burial service will be held at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428 on Tuesday, August 22 at 11 a.m.  Visitation will occur there at 10 a.m.

"Bernie" got his BA from Trinity College, Hartford, CT in 1967 and his M. Div. at the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, MA in 1972.  He was ordained deacon on June 3, 1972 and priest on June 1, 1973.    He served as a curate at Church of the Transfiguration, Providence, RI from 1972-1976; and in the Diocese of Pennsylvania at Holy Apostles and the Mediator, Philadelphia and Memorial Chapel of the Holy Communion, Philadelphia from 1976-1978; as rector of Calvary Church, Conshohocken, PA  from 1978-2002; and as priest at Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge, PA from 2002-2004.  For nearly a decade he served as priest in residence at Church of the Ascension, Gloucester City, NJ and at Church of the Holy Spirit, Bellmawr, NJ.

Condolences may be sent to his sister Joann McCarthy, 35 Dotsuwa Court, Brevard, NC 28712. Bernie’s brother, Donald K. Maguire, preceded him in death.
