The diocese’s collaboration with Depaul USA continues to strengthen in addressing the ongoing housing crisis. The diocese currently has two residential programs - at Christ and St. Michael's and House of Prayer.  These churches give college students and adults experiencing homelessness an opportunity to finish college/find employment while having a safe place to live and receive services. As a diocese, we want to build a fellowship with those who now reside with us and make the locations feel more like home (plant gardens, host dinners, invite to events/services, offer our skills/experience, etc.). We are asking for donations of goods and time to further this relationship.

Below are areas Depaul identified as needs for our locations:

  • Female, Muslim mental health professional
  • Entrepreneur or businessperson willing to serve as a mentor
  • Ready to serve meal donations for minimum of 20 people. Folks can always reach out to Brendan Sculley, below, directly to coordinate.
  • SEPTA transportation passes
  • Bathroom: Towels, shower curtain, shower liners, shower caddy (Individual), bath rugs
  • Bedroom: bedsheets (full and twin), Laundry hamper, detergent, hangers, storage bins, quilt/bedspread
  • House: rugs, floor lamps and table lamps

To donate any of the above, contact  Brendan Sculley, MSW, Philadelphia Director, brendan.sculley@depaulusa.org
