Help With Gun Buyback Program

This past weekend St. Luke’s in Germantown had their second annual gun buyback event. They collected 78 guns, 40 rifles and a large amount of ammunition.

Each gun is inspected and processed by the SWAT team and members of the police department. St. Luke’s collaborates with representatives from the city, the community and groups working toward ending gun violence including our own Gun Violence Commission.

Those who turn in guns do so anonymously with no questions asked and receive a $200 gift card for each gun.  Each event helps to reduce the risk of lethal fire arms getting into the wrong hands.

To help ensure each event remains successful, we are asking people to make donations for the gift cards given to those turning in a gun.

You may donate by either:

Purchasing the gift card yourself and sending them to:  Canon Toneh Smyth, c/o DIOPA, 23 E. Airy Street, Norristown, PA 19401
2. Mail a check made out to The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. Please put  “Gun Buyback” in memo line.

3. Online, go to: DIOPA Donation Page for a Specific A Ministry

Under "select a church" select Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania at the top.
In  “recognition” portion, type: gun buyback
Add your church's name as well if you want that church recognized.
If you need a receipt of donation for tax purposes this may be provided upon request
