The Rev. Barbara Kelley was born in 1954 and died on February 22, 2023. Services for her will be at St. James Episcopal Church, Langhorne on March 18th at 2 p.m.
Barbara was a consummate priest and leader in the diocese. She last served as rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Langhorne, 2008-2020, and as interim from 2004-2006. She also served as an interim in 15 parishes in the diocese, an all-time record. She was an assistant at the Church of the Advent, Kennett Square and curate at All Saints Church, Great Neck, NY. Suffice it to say that Barbara was instrumental in the transition ministries of congregational ministries in profound ways and for that we owe her much gratitude. She blended an unusual capacity of intellectual acumen and accessibility which assisted countless persons in their spiritual and learning journeys.
She was the daughter of Arthur Kelley (deceased) and Dorothy Kelley with whom she shared her last years of illness. Barbara received her BA from Lawrence in 1976, Master of Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1978, and Master of Divinity from The General Theological Seminary in 1980. She was ordained a deacon on June 7, 1980 by Bishop Robert Campbell Witcher, Sr.; and priest on December 16, 1981 by Bishop Ogilby in the Diocese of Pennsylvania.
