On Wednesday, September 11th at 6:30 p.m. Washington Memorial Chapel will be having a Service of Evening Prayer in Remembrance of September 11th. The service will begin in the chapel and move to the grave of Louis J Nacke, II, our hero from Flight 93. During the service, bells will toll six times to mark the times when the planes crashed and when the towers collapsed. Prayers will be offered to all first responders and to all whose lives were forever changed on that tragic day.

Patriot Day 9/11 is a National Day of Remembrance, where we pay tribute to ordinary Americans who performed extraordinary acts of heroism. Firefighters and police officers rushed into crumbling buildings and raging fires to save others. EMTs, construction workers, colleagues, and strangers tended to the wounded. Passengers and crewmembers gave their lives to thwart another attack. And a generation of women and men answered the call of duty by joining our Armed Forces to defend our freedom and our democracy. We recommit ourselves to the spirit of unity, patriotism, and service that carried our Nation through in the days that followed.

There will be a reception following in the Bishop White Library and Garden. This event is free however, registration is appreciated. Questions contact Maeve Vogan at veteranscommission@wmchapel.org
