The Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disability Services will provide an informative session and training to become an ambassador for overdose prevention methods. Adults and high school students are invited to learn harm-reduction approaches, high-risk behaviors, protocols for administering overdose prevention medication, the Good Samaritan Act 139, and Pennsylvania's Standing Order for Naloxone.
The opioid crisis continues to be a leading cause of death to our brothers and sisters in the community. Despite stereotype, there is no zip code immunity from the drug. This training will provide the behaviors of those with addiction problems, symptoms of those who may be overdosing, and ways opioids are entering our communities including how they are beginning to target children. More importantly this training will show you how to save a life and provide free Narcan.
