Holy Spirit, Harleysville begins this year’s Music Series with a lighthearted concert, “Music for Magical Mallets,” featuring Jeffrey Uhlig on piano and Mark O’Kain on marimba and xylophone,’ at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 at the church at 2871 Barndt Road, Harleysville. The music will include classics, tangos, ragtime and Broadway. A reception will follow. A $25 donation is suggested. Uhlig performs regularly with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. O’Kain is principal percussionist with the Ocean City, N.J. POPS Orchestra.
On Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m., join Holy Spirit to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a Celtic Concert of traditional Irish music by The Jameson Sisters (Ellen Tepper on harp and Terry Kane on guitar and mandolin) and Helene Zisook Speer on violin. The Jameson Sisters delight audiences with their energetic music and dance and have released Irish and Scottish recordings.
On Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m., a concert will feature Tina Faigen on piano. Faigen is an active chamber musician, recording artist, published music-writer, and is a faculty member at both the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University Music Preparatory School.
