Inside the Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia.

The Black Clericus and the Offices of the Diocese invite you to a gathering of Historically Black Churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. This meeting is convened with the blessing of Bishop Gutierrez, and is planned with the diocesan vision "to enable and empower our churches and individuals."

The Black Clericus is calling this meeting to follow-through the successful gathering of Black churches last Spring with Canon Ron Byrd (TEC Office of Black Ministries) to continue addressing the needs that strengthen our churches.  Most essentially, we want to hear from you about what ministries are working well in your parishes, and how you are addressing the challenges of  "the changing church" (membership, changing neighborhoods, etc.)

In addition to listening to how the diocese can better support you, the Rev. Canon Betsy Ivey, Canon for Growth and Support, will present a new collaborative ministry model; and give an update of the General Convention Task Force for Congregational Redevelopment.

Light snacks and refreshments provided.  Please RSVP to attend.
