Evensong for All Saints (11/1/22)

The choirs of Saint Mary’s, Wayne and Good Samaritan, Paoli will join for a special celebration of the Feast of All Saints at St. Mary’s Church. Evensong is an iconic choral service of the Anglican tradition.

The choirs will sing the canticles of Evensong –  Psalm, Magnificat (Song of Mary), Nunc dimittis (Song of Simeon), and a festive canticle sung for special occasions, the Te Deum Laudamus (We praise Thee, O God).

British composers represented in the music for this Evensong are Ralph Vaughan Williams, Herbert Sumsion, C. Villiers Stanford, and George Oldroyd.  An especially effective arrangement of a Spiritual (In bright mansions above) will also be included. The choirs will be under the direction of Dr. Gordon Turk, Dir. of Music at  St. Mary’s and Richard Zuch, Dir of Music at Good Samaritan. The Rev. Joseph Smith, Rector of St. Mary’s and the Rev Richard Morgan, Rector of Good Samaritan will be officiating. All are invited to attend.
