2023 Nury Exhibit

"There has been a thought thread running through my work for quite some time. It expresses the closeness I feel with Nature, as well as my growing awareness of the fragile balance that exists between the Natural world and Human Nature."

The Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral presents artist Nury Vicens Rosenbusch. Born in Chile, Nury came to the U.S. in her twenties to complete her studies in Philadelphia. Her mixed media work draws on varied materials, from  burned paper, to plant material, plaster, smoke,  and Copal resin to draw the viewer deeper into the relationship of people with nature, and the challenges to our global sustainability as the result of climate change.

The exhibit also includes quotations from various poets, thinkers, and scientists about our relationship to the environment written by hand on parchment paper in both English and in the native language of friends and colleagues she has encountered along the way.

Viewing by appointment April 14 through May 21, 2023
