Service for Justice in New Hope

Annual Service of Justice at St. Philip’s Church
The Battle in our Backyard: LGBTQ+Rights in Schools

Pride events are mostly thought of as parades and parties but have its roots in a social justice movement for equality for all people. St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, New Hope will once again host the annual Service for Justice during New Hope Pride on Thursday, May 19 at 6 p.m. to help us ground the week in its origins.

While many see strides in LGBTQ+ rights on national levels regarding marriage equality, the real challenge has now become local with regards to student rights in schools, parents’ roles, school board policy, and community responses. Bucks County has been the center of this debate with several high-profile news stories and has in many ways become the epicenter of the debate.

We hope this event will be one which will explore the facts around these issues and how it is affecting our schools, teachers, and students. Time will also be spent in organizing and creating a response to the present situation. Co hosted by New Hope Celebrates, Inc. PrideFest 2022.

The event is free and the public is welcome. 267 897 3050 or www.stphilipsnewhope.org
