Episcopalians are no different than others in their love of animals. Expressing this love is also an essential expression of our faith. God calls us to care for all of creation – including animals. Our diocese has a unique opportunity to live into this call and meet a need in a new and innovative way by incorporating companion animals into our church communities.
The diocese is in partnership with many shelters and small rescues to create opportunities for companion animals to find homes. We are working with churches like St. Thomas' in Whitemarsh and the Free Church of St. John to create a worship community that allows people to bring in their companion animals for services and provides services like free vet check-ups, food and other needs.
We are adding more events to celebrate and care for our companion animals. Email us to to get alerts when we add events: contact@diopa.org
