Prayer for Guatemala 2008
God of Communion, you have given us the gift of your holy Church and knit us into one body with brothers and sisters around the world. We are called to strengthen our bonds of unity through our companion relationship with the people of the Diocese of Guatemala and share our diverse spiritual, relational and material gifts with one another. We are grateful for the young people of the Diocese of Pennsylvania Miles, Corinne, Patrick, Meghan, Joshua, Marvin, Kimberly, Mariel, Timothy, Daniel, Luz, Emily, Erin, Connor, Grace, Phillip, Danielle, Hannah, Rebecca, Evan, Jennifer and Dylan who eagerly explore the breadth of your community as they share a mission trip of faithful discovery and witness the expansive embrace of your love. Grant them and the adults who join them a good journey, friendly companionship and inspiration in the work they are given to do as the voices, hands and heart of Christ in the world. Sustain them as they cross barriers for you, as you crossed barriers for them. May they be open to others in listening, generous to others in giving and responsive to others in praying; we ask this through you, O God, our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Amen.
